The Green Island
Let us take you on a guided tour of this beautiful island just a 15 minute drive away from the hustle and bustle of the Stockholm city center. Welcome to Lidingö and discover this green and lush island full of surprises.This is the birth place of Raoul Wallenberg as well as that of the AGA stove, invented by the Swedish Nobel laureate Gustaf Dalén. The famous sculptor Carl Milles built his home here and Greta Garbo's first film was shot on this island. Visit the beautiful Högberga gård overlooking the archipelago and inlet to Stockholm, built in 1911 as a private home.
By car we will drive around the island - see the country side of Sweden with the forests and fields and even an old Viking rune stone. We will visit an old farm from the 18th century as well as a beautiful manor house built in 1775. We will end the tour with a walk around the home of Carl Milles with his fabulous sculpture garden.
